About Ballad
If one was to describe Ballad in a word....well, it'd likely be 'difficult'. Free-spirited to perhaps a fault and boisterous to boot, Ballad is always the life of whatever room she's in. Even from a very young age she took to singing and instruments - a talent she's honed to, as she would put it, perfection. It is not uncommon to hear the woman long, long before one sees her.
Ballad makes no attempt to hide her rambunctious, bawdy lifestyle. Floating from town to town, city to city, she lives fast and loose. While she works as a gleaner and absolutely gets the job done each time, she often can be found long past the fall of night in a local tavern, performing and carousing into the bells of the morning.
There's almost nowhere in the world she hasn't gone - Eorzea, Ilsabard, Othard - even the far off New World from time to time. She's always seeking the next thing to catch her interests. It's almost as if she has to keep moving, lest she have to think too much....

Despite her....everything, Ballad is actually a rather well-learned individual. Her life in Sharlayan has afforded her the chance to become a polyglot, as her field of study was focused on linguistics. She speaks quite a few languages fluently - and is passable in many more. She loves to learn about culture through speech, and prefers to talk to the locals in their native tongue.

Ballad is not shy about telling people when she's attracted to them. In fact, she's fairly forward about it, all told. She's had flings and one-night stands in lots of places - and she does try and keep in touch....most of the time. It's exceptionally common for her to go somewhere and cross paths with a few familiar faces.

Ballad is a practiced, trained bard - both with instrument, song, and bow. Her work as a gleaner brings her all over...and her work as a bard eases her passage from place to place. She's a common sight at local taverns, playing and singing, or helping out locals with her trained eye at archery.
